Penn Valley Pump Co., Inc. Receives NSF/AN SI/CAN 61 and NSF/AN SI 372 Certification for Its Double Disc Pumps

PVP’s pumps can now be safely used in potable water applications

Warrington, Pa. June 2022 – Penn Valley Pump Co., Inc. (PVP), the leading manufacturer of Double Disc pumps, recently obtained NSF 61 and NSF 372 certification for its Double Disc Pumps from Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a global safety science leader that provides testing, inspection and certification services. Inspectors and regulators look for the UL mark on drinking water products to have confidence that the products meet all health and safety requirements.

While NSF/ANSI 61 tests for all contaminants in drinking water; NSF/ANSI 372 pertains to, and tests for, lead content in drinking water. The addition of NSF certification means that PVP’s pumps can now be safely used in potable water applications in full compliance with the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act.

The NSF certification applies to PVP’s global manufacturing headquarters facility in Warrington, PA; as well as to all of its Double Disc product sizes.

“Certification to standard NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and NSF/ANSI 372 confirms that PVP Double Disc Pumps meet the requirements of the 2014 Amendment to the U.S. Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. This recognition marks a new milestone in being able to provide pumps for the potable water treatment plant market,” said Preston Campbell, Vice President, Penn Valley Pump Co., Inc.

PVP is already well established in the wastewater treatment industry and other industrial manufacturing processes. “Obtaining this certification is a nice expansion for us. We’re looking forward to the new opportunities this will bring in the drinking water market” said Campbell.
